Less Money for US Space Programmes

Abstract:

The US Government is likely to spend less money on space programmes. Two major reasons account for the expectation. First, the US Government is already heavily in debt, owing the rest of the world a lot of money. Second, the US economy is in a weak state, struggling to recover from the problems created by its financial crisis. Hence, President Barack Obama is expected to reduce cut back on space programmes.

McDonald's Apologizes for Toy Decision

Abstract:

A decision made with good intent may sometimes lead unexpectedly to negative responses. Fast-food chain McDonald's offers a case in point. Mindful of religious sensitivities in Singapore, McDonald's had earlier excluded the pig from its collection of zodiac soft toys launched in celebration of the Chinese New Year. However, unforeseen reactions have compelled the company to reverse its decision and apologize for it.

Electricity from Cows

Abstract:

Mankind has been burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and gas) to produce electricity. Do we have other ways to get power? The answer is YES! A farm in the American state of Vermont has found a way to generate electricity from cow manure, or cow dung. There are other benefits too.
